    Fateful Findings

Somehow in my two years of extensive film watching, I had not heard of this movie until I came across Drew's amazing list: The Most Controversial Films on Letterboxd.

Insanely insane, and always keeping you on your toes. Staring the master Breen himself, and an aged Jamie-Lynn Sigler from 2025, who time traveled back just to star in this train wreck.

After an accident, watch as Breen tries to put the pieces of his life back together. This includes destroying…

Yes, this movie is four hours long.
Yes, the main charcter becomes the prince of pervets.
Yes, this movie's ratings are heavily skewed to five stars.

I will not attempt to write anything about this movie. HentaiCop's review from his FIFTH time seeing this movie covers everything.

This movie is perverse and absurd, but at the end of the day, isn't that what love is?

How did I get here? A boring Sunday, with nothing but Netflix. After watching Hobo with a Shotgun, I bravely clicked on "what other movies viewers watched." Knowing absolutely nothing about this movie, I was sold by the two line description.

A remarkably self-aware movie about a tire that goes on a rampage in the desert. Four stars, because unlike Hobo with a Shotgun, this movie is only mildly ridiculous (suspension of disbelief and all.)…

Why: I'm a huge fan of Nicole Kidman, but why has she never been in a really amazing movie? So on a lark I went to see all her films sorted by rating and here we are.

My first Lars von Trier movie. This is a three hour long doozy about a women who finds herself understanding the intricacies of a small town. Shot on a single sound stage and resembling a stage play, the…

The only idea more overused than serial killers is multiple personality. On top of that, you explore the notion that cop and criminal are really two aspects of the same person. See every cop movie ever made for other examples of this.

Why: Finally watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2015 #64) and realizing Charlie Kaufman also wrote one of my favorite movies this year Synecdoche, New York, I wanted to see what other greatness he wrote.

Nic Cage starring in a movie playing Charlie Kaufman writing an adaption of a book about an orchid hunter. Very quickly you realize the movie itself becomes the adaptation Charlie has written.

Unfortunately it does not end as well…

One Day I'll Understand Lynch: #4

This movie is on my diary, but I'll be honest, I never was able to finish it. Over the course of a week I would keep trying to restart from where I left of. Nada.

I know I said Synecdoche, New York was a "Lynch movie off the rails" but unfortunately I had yet to see Inland Empire.

This truly is a Lynch movie off the rails. I'm hoping to take another stab at this and give it a real rating. My "Quest to Understand Lynch Movies" continues.

    Rating: ???????
