The Story of Film: An Odyssey

    ★★★½

Disc 5 and the end of this enjoyable experience. In the part we cover the end of celluloid, the dawn of digital and cgi, through to modern era film with talks of beyond. I did enjoy watching but do not feel i would go back and rewatch at least anytime soon. As i stated before this documentary touches on the events but people looking for a more in-depth documentary maybe disappointed. I would recommend people like myself checking this out, as I appreciate the effort and hard work that went into a project this big.

Brutal and gritty British drama, set in a young offenders prison Borstal. A gripping look into the Dominant struggles between inmates and screws. A young Ray Winstone is excellent as Carlin as he fights his way to the top to become "The Daddy". Some shocking scenes of violence and rape, which can be hard to watch, but overall the film is gripping and I believe a British Classic that must be seen.
