    lol remember the 90s caesar haircut?

    Also maybe its me but watching it this time it seemed when Travolta is doing his Nic Cage he slips severely into a Tarantino on many occasions (particularly when recounting his talk with the President to Joan Allen after diffusing the bomb).

    So this is very sweet and affable and my god I don't think anyone loves Michael McKean as much as I do. Inoffensive and almost barely "there."

    For me, the most interesting element of the film isn't the way the kids interact and how DARYL (lol at film execs thinking the key to unlocking the success of ET was fucking acronyms—I'm looking at you too, MAC and Me) assimilates/ is rejected—it's how the adults react to him.

    I loved the nods to this character’s Western and samurai film roots. The Adjudicator character was great (although giving them a little more to do would have been preferable, I don't like when I feel like I'm watching a TV series at the movie theater and we're *really* seeing the full them in a future film or something). The successful set-pieces were tremendous—the initial knife battle, the horse ride through NYC, the motorcycle battle on the bridge.
