What makes It Follows such a thought provoking film are the ideas and inspirations behind it. Not only is it well made through cinematography and storyline, but it is how David Robert Mitchell was inspired by a childhood nightmare that kept reoccurring. It made a deeper connection to the horror genre and aimed to unconsciously unsettle its audience.
With a well paced and subtle narrative, It Follows proves that the horror genre can keep its quality high without having to hit major lows for cheap scares. A must see for horror lovers.
