Cinema Darling’s review published on Letterboxd:
Bless Kanopy for having the Criterion Collection on streaming part two (See my Eraserhead review to understand all the references)
The 400 Blows is a classic French film that is perfect in every way! Such a delightful journey as the audience follows this young devious boy as he navigates through childhood and unpleasant yet entertaining situations. Completely engaging from the first shot to the last, and boasts the 1950's Paris family culture in the most striking and realistic way. The 400 Blows is also gorgeously filmed and still retains its crisp and masterclass quality decades later! I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about a movie that has defined the French new wave genre and is well-deservingly one of the best films ever made!
