    Esteemed auteur Brian De Palma's Black Dahlia seems to want to fit the mood/mold of L.A. Confidential, with it's seedy underlying tone of corruption set against the Hollywood scene. But it's not nearly on par with that brilliant neo-noir, thanks in part to a sometimes fuzzy storyline and mostly wooden acting by Hartnett, who I'll always remember as the high-school outcast doling out drugs to kids in the bathroom in The Faculty.     Returned to the the film that made me a fan of Atwell.

    Not quite as charming a movie as I remembered. A bit too slow paced, but the performances were solid. Especially from Redgrave, Ackland, and of course Atwell, who was looking radiant as usual.

    One of my Top 5 favorite movies. I watched it a total of EIGHT times in theaters. Magnificent on a grand scale with a great (and gorgeous) lead cast, dynamic action scenes, solid storyline that blends fantasy with reality, and an awesome soundtrack.
