Bryan Singer's Apocalypse is a bit of a mystery to me. After the masterpiece (judging on the comic book curve) Days of Future Past, Singer somehow managed to make the most threatening storyline to the X-men universe pretty boring all around. No one seems to do much in this movie, and that includes their character arcs, or lack there of (with the obvious exception of Fassbender's Magneto, who is handled eloquently). That being said, Singer's voice is still all over this film, and that alone is enough to make it worth watching.
