I've been thinking of reading Jane Austen's Persuasion recently, and that thought was very present in my mind when out of nowhere one of the characters in this referred to it. Can movies read minds too?
The way it chooses to go about Carter and Eckhart's characters' unreliable/shifting memories, and their present wishes vs reality, could've been much, much better. The editing & structure, not its strongest suit. (In few parts the former feels reminiscent of I, Tonya but not good)
However, its short runtime, great first half, and overall being an easy, light, entertaining watch made up for it. And ahhh it also made me want to feel something, so there's that.
