The film that was my inspiration. The film solely responsible for opening me up to what cinema can be at it's best. The film that invited me into the ambition of filmmaking and persuaded me to never look back.
Inception will always, and forever, have a special place in my heart. It's the turning point for me in which I truly started to look at movies as much more than just entertainment, and as art.
Visually stunning, filled with brilliant performances, a solid screenplay that perfectly balances it's dual line between ambitious blockbuster and spectacle with a dose of genuine heart at it's centre, a Hans Zimmer score that is just simply amazing, spectacular editing, and anchored by one of modern cinema's more impactful filmmakers in Christopher Nolan, Inception still stands as one of this decade's many crowning achievements, and rightfully so.
