Reviews of Jacob's Ladder 1990

Made no sense until the end. Was very weird and confusing story to follow along because there was no plot.

I like the surreal nightmare imagery and gore (even if there isn't quite enough of either), as well as the philosophical approach to how we perceive mortality, but otherwise this suffers from being outclassed in every way by the works that it influenced. The Sixth Sense, The Others, and the Silent Hill games all tackle similar themes and visuals to stronger effect, leaving Lyne's film as a piece more notable for what it spawned than what it does.

good cinematography, good hospital scene but really really boring

Getting a divorce it's a nightmare.

Disappointed, thought this was about a man who was renovating his house with his favourite ladder
-
Looking at where he lived, I don’t think Jacob even owned a ladder 🙄

7/10

A gruesome and disturbing film about the horrors of war and it's dark and terrible influence of a soldier's mind, also known as post-trauma.

Every time I see Tim Robbins, I just think of that scene where he threatens to cut Tenacious D’s balls off but wants then to come over to him to do it cause he can’t walk
He plays the same character in this movie I’m pretty sure
