Monte Markham, eternal B-movie staple, directs this post-apocalyptic Western that should be great, but it never quite gets there.
Michael Ironside is Stark, ex-cop turned wasteland bounty hunter, who captures Vanity, a Red Star™ fugitive, taking her to Saltair III to catch the next transport to Neon City. The Overland Transport is filled with characters (of varying degrees of depth) and the journey is fraught with peril and personality-revealing moments to keep things somewhat intriguing.
The action is not shot especially well, with one motorcycle stunt that is hilariously ill-framed, and the world-building technobabble gets a little excessive, with Xander clouds and Brights and what-not. I appreciate the attempt to create something that's not just wall-to-wall action in service of…
