What a boring, flat, needlessly convoluted chore.
Not sure if it was down to the fact I got only four hours of sleep, but this thing nearly put me to sleep. What should have been a straight forward turned out to nothing more but melodramatic and confusing. Seriously, most of the time I had trouble figuring out whatever the hell was going on!
Boris Karloff's work as the titular Mummy is good enough, but it's not enough to save the film's lack of genuine suspense, clever writing, or even decent acting. You're better off watching either one of his "Frankenstein" movies instead.
Off all the Universal Monster Movies I've seen thus far, this was by a land slide the hardest one to sit through. Not even watching it with two of my friends made it any less of a slog.
