What a unique gem this is. Oddball late 80's b-movie supernatural slasher that makes some very ambitious moves, setting it apart from the pack.
The tone is a strange one, blending a hokey slasher formula with some extremely mean-spirited vibes via the Class of 1984-esque bullies. These two guys are not playing around, their agenda is full of sexual assault and racism.
Which immediately stood out - suddenly the bad acting and tacky looks didn't feel quite so wholesome. It's uncomfortable but effectively draws you in to the supporting characters.
The kills are pretty dark too, with characters dying by snakes, flying objects, steel masks tightening up and popping head into bits, etc. You get the picture. Very imaginative.
