Molly Parker is terrific, although the disturbing story is rather muddled.
I know that Ken Loach means well, but this is a rather distorted version of Irish history.
Most members of the Old IRA, from both factions, were conservative Catholics. A utopian socialist republic was never a real possibility, however much both Loach and I wish that it had been.
I didn't find the characters in this particular tale very believable, since they seem to be cogs in the script-machinery.
Loach has made other great films, but he should probably stick to the English homeland he understands best.
