This is a designer handbag full of vomit.

It looks great (I love the vibrant warm colors), it's shot well, the cast is talented but the a convoluted mess. You cannot simply suspend your disbelief to make this plot work--you need to shoot that baby into space. I had so many eye-roll moments watching this, it probably looked like I was having a seizure.

Neil Jordan, how could you do us so wrong?

  • Stepfather III

    Stepfather III

The Stepfather is back and this time he has TWO families...what a twist! For a TV movie, this one isn't half bad and I like the new direction this film took. That said, I miss Terry O' Quinn and no amount of bribery will make me call this new guy daddy.

  • Escape Room

    Escape Room

I'm surprised this movie did so poorly in theaters. This was suspenseful and had a great cast. I was entertained throughout though the gamemaster was lacking and the ending set up a sequel that I'm not sure we'll ever get to see.

  • Beloved

One of the most haunting and disturbing films I have ever seen.

  • Supergirl

3 stars only because I LOVED this movie as a kid. Rewatched it as an adult and couldn't finish it. Damn, this movie is dumb.

  • Brightburn

Unflinching and brutal violence and gore, incredible pacing that knows when to draw out the suspense and when to hit you with the scare, and a great cast. My attention was held from beginning to end--not a dull moment. Check it out!

  • Godzilla: King of the Monsters

    Godzilla: King of the Monsters

How does such a big budget film have such a terrible script? The dialogue is nothing but cheesy one-liners. It's bland, lazy and all of the characters sound the same. The cast is talented and they do the best with what they are given, but they deserved better writing. The movie is also incredibly dark and drab especially during the fight scenes in the rain. Not that we're missing much--every time the monsters make contact the film cuts away to something much less entertaining. I really wanted to like this film, but for me, this was a huge disappointment.

  • Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II

Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II

A fun underrated slasher with some incredible special effects!

  • Street Trash

    Street Trash

Any movie that uses rape for comedic effect is a hard pass for me. I did like some of the visual effects but this was more hobo drama than body horror and when it wasn't offensive and outdated, it was just boring.

  • Blood Harvest

    Blood Harvest

A low budget slasher with some of the worst music and performances put to film. Surprisingly, Tiny Tim is one of the better actors here and the story isn't half bad. Jill and Gary are awful and are by far the hardest to watch. A tough one to get through but if you're the type that enjoys movies like The Room, check it out. Tiny Tim was the original so-bad-he's-good novelty act.

    How to Survive a Plague

Confession time. I had no idea what this film was but I was pleasantly surprised. This was informative, emotional, and inspiring.

    Demon Wind

I have no idea what I just watched, but I think I liked it.
