An over-rated, decidedly average monster flick. Every part of the film's design, from the sound to the creatures is derivative to the point of cliché while the central conceit, while ostensibly unique, will be familiar to anyone who has played a video game in the last 10 years. Even the films more emotional moments fall disappointingly flat. It's just really nothing special whatsoever.
