    Guillermo Del Toro’s debut feature, Cronos, displays a lot of the same problems he still has today. The film seems to be based around a really great idea but unfortunately completely lacks in character and any actual interesting story.     Hypnotic insanity - Climax is a showcase for incredible direction and stellar camera work that slowly builds and descends into madness. In many ways it reminds me of Aronofsky’s mother!, a film that grabs you by the throat and attempts to suffocate you for the entire final act, but this wasn’t quite as anxiety inducing as I wanted.
