    Heat

    ★★★★

Period.

    Magnolia

    ★★★★★

“I have a feeling, one of those gut feelings, that I'll watch pretty good movies the rest of my life. … but I guess the way that I really feel is that Magnolia is, for better or worse, the best movie I'll ever watch.”

  • The Lost Weekend

    The Lost Weekend

If I’d open a bar I would surely name it “The Mouse and The Bat”.

This movie isn’t about portraying alcoholism. It’s about losing, loving, hoping, fearing, desiring.

Without attempting to be a great movie, it is perfectly achieved in every detail. And Wilder was great for that.

A film with or written by Greta Gerwig should start being consider a genre by itself. Seriously considered.

I would happily watch all of them.

I still cannot believe how wonderful and shocking this movie is.

    And I believe I won’t.

    Ever.

  • Let the Sunshine In

    Let the Sunshine In

    ★★★

It’s only Juliette Binoche among the best male french contemporary actors showing them how great she is while showing all of us how difficult and painful can be to find true love.
And she succeeded in every second of it.

  • Beautiful Boy

Without Carrell, the shouting and the editing, it would’ve been a pretty decent movie. Or even great.

  • Double Indemnity

And they did all of this black-noir masterpiece without showing a single cop.

    Wonderful

  • Bohemian Rhapsody

    Bohemian Rhapsody

Ok.
