Wild West Summer 2019: Film #28
Task #23 - Watch a Western with no cowboy hats on the poster
Little by little the look of the country changes because of the men we admire. You're just going to have to make up your own mind one day about what's right and wrong.
This prestige neo-western is basically just Paul Newman getting drunk and acting like a massive asshole while the world around him slowly dies. The performances from Newman, Melvyn Douglas and Patricia Neal are excellent, as is James Wong Howe's stunning black-and-white cinematography.
