Spectacular! It’s not easy juggling so many uniquely independent characters, but the Russo Brothers manage to pull it off here. Josh Brolin gives a powerhouse of a performance as the film’s villain Thanos. The motion capture is magical. This film is surprisingly quite powerful when it means to be. There is, perhaps for the first real time in a Marvel film, great consequences to be had all around. No one is safe in the world in which Thanos has created, and it makes for one magnificent spectacle.
I had the opportunity to watch The Predator at TIFF this year, I am sad to say that this is not the film I was hoping for. Written by Shane Black and Fred Decker, I was expecting a lot more from this team of 80's darlings, one of which starred in the beloved original.
