Though I'm obligated to state how incredible the sound design is in this film, it's very, very sleepy. Tonally, it's a lot like the movie "Her," minus most of the whimsy. It's fine for what it is but is missing a little extra to bring it over the top.

When my wife and I were deciding whether or not to watch this she plainly said to me "we can try it but you're probably going to fall asleep." Somehow she was wrong about me falling asleep but very right about the fact that this movie was terribly boring. It's unclear how you take an interesting but all-but-ignored time period and add such talented and beautiful people and make it feel wholly inconsequential, but here we are.

There's some meat in the concept, less-so in the doc. I was having trouble shaking the privilege-stench of the whole "I used to be a junior partner on wall street but now I only own five shirts and live in a yurt" thing. This doc prompted me to donate a bunch of stuff I've been meaning to get rid of, so that's worthwhile.

Despite being a verifiably nerdy child, I never got into comic books. Watching this movie as an adult felt to me like what I had hoped reading comics would feel like as a kid, and that's the highest praise I could possibly give it.
