The following poem comes from my old blog This Is Cinerama.

    An Ode to Emmerich:

    O Mr. Emmerich
    How I love to see
    Gigantic disasters

    With explosions to spare
    You destroy existence
    Without a care

    That gleeful abandon
    Which you spread about
    Causes everyone
    To scream and shout

    You’re truly the master
    Of all you survey
    In your cinema playground
    You alone hold sway

    So, should people complain
    About all the clatter
You can just say the word
And they’ll be part of the splatter

The film, The Adventures of Prince Achmed, was unlike anything audiences had seen before and, in many cases, since. Using thousands of cut-out silhouette figures, Reiniger created a beautiful world populated by fairy tale characters. This work holds a special distinction in the world of cinema as…

This is a better send up of art culture than Velvet Buzzsaw.
