John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum

keanu is still fantastic, i love him. halle berry is also a really awesome addition, and seeing the guys from the raid was really cool. i do feel like with this one the story definitely left a little more to be desired though. chapter one and two seem to have a far better balance between the action and story. regardless, everything else is top notch. the cinematography is beautiful, the action choreography is creative as hell, and a more building of this super cool assassin underworld is always a welcome addition.

a masterpiece. it’s been a long time since i first saw this movie.  i definitely was way too young, but i can see why so many people
love this movie. there is so much to love. jim carrey is incredible. i really just love everything about this.

    Avengers: Infinity War

this shit still slaps. definitely not as emotionally resonant as endgame, but it’s far more cohesive and focused. however, both are fantastic and work as great companion pieces. we already know the heroes so we get to know thanos on a more personal level in this one, and it works really well. idk if it’s a five but it’s pretty close to one, and for what this movie and endgame are, they’re pretty damn perfect.

holy shit i started tearing up in the first 15 minutes. the real world stuff is a little generic and contrived but all the time spent in the hundred acre woods with these little stuffed animals is too good. also this movie is so pretty to look at. the cinematography is gorgeous, and all of the stuffed toys feel so tangible. it might not be the most memorable of movies, but the weirdly melancholic optimism the movie has is something i very much needed right now. it ain’t perfect, but it did really strike a chord with me.

i have a long list of movies i am so disappointed i didn’t see in theaters, and this is definitely near the top of that list. i just love this movie so much.

  • Aquaman

when people said this movie’s script was bad, i didn’t think it was THAT bad. wow was there some shitty dialogue. james wan’s direction is the only reason why this isn’t a one star. some of the action and visuals had me thoroughly entertained but that’s it.

    Wonder Woman

I love this movie, but damn the last 20-25 minutes are garbage.

  • Searching

this movie is perfect. everything about it is perfect.

thank god for chadwick boseman and harrison ford, because this movie would’ve been significantly worse if they weren’t in it.

  • Ready Player One

    Ready Player One

does this movie have issues? yes. the themes and messages of the movie are muttled, and none of the characters really have any depth, but man can spielberg direct a movie. if anyone else directed this movie it would be 10 times less tolerable. it’s full of that classic spielberg earnestness, an incredible silvestri score, and olivia cooke is just insanely charismatic in everything she does. like, there were so many other much better movies that came out in 2018,…
