I'm not exactly sure what happened in the story nor why, but I thoroughly enjoyed Lost Highway from start to end! It's visually engaging with some great cinematography, editing and weird effects. Good film overall, with a very fun idea for an assassination. Unfortunately there were just too many things that annoyed me throughout, like the singing and having things constantly get in their way. It almost got ridiculous at times in how everything is working against them that it became banal, so it was difficult to just enjoy it and I was frustrated at some points instead. Many of the characters were also not especially likeable or charming, aside from James Stewart of course. Still, for the most part I did enjoy it.

The actors chosen for the parts were all perfect, Depp's performance and demeanor works great for the character he's playing and I love the tone of it all. It would have been easy to look down on the main character or shown a more realistic look at things, but this film makes you root for him…
