This is the oldest record of the IMDb Top 250 using the Wayback Machine, which allows you to look at webpages on different days in the past. Saw someone link to it on The Dissolve Facebook page and found the list fascinating. It seems the rules for the list were different then, as there are a handful of shorts, documentaries, and TV shows on the list. And you can see how the IMDb ranking system is a little flawed since there are so many 1995 and 1996 movies on the list (Star Trek: First Contact #7 overall?!). It's also fun to look at the total votes for each film, as Star Wars only had 7174 votes (it has 812,971 votes as of the day I post this list). And some films had a total number of votes as low as 211 (City Lights).
