    The Day After Tomorrow

I know its cheesy but it has a warm place in my heart!!!!

  • BlacKkKlansman

Amazing and brilliant. Really got under my skin and pushed all my buttons. What's going on in the world?!?! A great story l, told well at a timely moment in history. This is what cinema is supposed to do.

  • Apollo 13

    Apollo 13

Nearly 25 years have passed. Does this film still hold up? Yes it does.

This film still has a high level of tension, some great visuals, a fantastic script, some great direction and really subtle nuanced performances from the whole cast, from top to bottom this film is still great.

Tom Hanks gets a lot of credit from all people, and deservedly so. He's awesome. But Ron Howard should get more credit. This is another example of his shining talent.…

    Extracurricular Activities

Strange and not in either a good or a bad way. Not particularly funny or creepy. Just weird. Well thought out. It's just a bit... Well... Meh. A bit of nothing. If nothing else is on give it a whirl.

  • Upgrade

Ive flipped and flopped for ages about whether to watch this film or not. Finally decided to watch it and I was so pleased that I did. This is easily one of the best newer science fiction action movies we have seen. Not a sequel, prequel, or reboot, Upgrade is a new story told and directed in a fresh way. This is very worthy of your time.

The story follows a paralysed man "upgraded" to be able to walk again.…

  • The Goonies

    The Goonies

I always site this movie as one of my favourite movies. I quote it endlessly and talk for ages about it with my brother, but recently I realised that I hadnt actually seen it in years. So it was time to sit down again with it and relive the experience. Some films really seem flawed at a revisit and you wonder why you loved them so much. I was hoping this wouldnt happen with the Goonies.

    It didnt disappoint. I…

  • Mission: Impossible III

    Mission: Impossible III

This is where they start getting really good and I was blown away by how emotive yet action tastic this film was. JJ Abrams and co have developed a really smart movie here. Kept me gripped and involved the whole film. Its 13 years old and still the scene on the bridge with the drone still had me gasping. A great film. Not 5 stars because Russell trained for 3 months for essentially 10 minutes, would have loved to see what she could have done in the franchise. Other than that...brilliant.

  • Searching

So few new and fresh stories told through an experimental medium that works but this does and it breathes a bit of life into modern cinema. Great acting too and a great surprising turn from Messing reminding us she's more than Grace.

What I like about this is that it's not all about the medium of being told through a computer. The story is really good and makes a statement about modern relationships and connection without beating you around the head with it.

I'm already looking forward to watching this again and I heartily recommend this for all film lovers.

  • Johnny English

    Johnny English

After catching the second movie on TV the other day and really enjoying it I thought I would watch the Johnny English trilogy properly. I hadn't seen the first since it came out on the cinema. Was it as amusing as the second one?

    No. No it wasn't.

Poor. Very poor writing led to this being lacklustre and generally not very funny. Rowan Atkinson admitted as much himself saying it was a couple of jokes drawn out over 90 minutes.…

  • The Nutcracker and the Four Realms

The Nutcracker and the Four Realms

Left over CGI from a Christmas Carol.
Left over sets from the Alice in wonderland sequel.
Left over props from the santa clause two.
    Terrible acting and poor script.
The only saving grace was the excellent direction, music and dancing.

  • Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

    Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

It continues to be brilliant. Still the best Spiderman movie (sorry Tom, you're great but this is off the scale better). Visually stunning. Orally magnificent. An emotional roller-coaster in a great way. Laughs and tears with tension to boot. It's great. Some great casting choices and a great teaser as Oscar Isaac as Spidey 2099 too.

A rare thing in modern cinema... An animated masterpiece.

  • Mission: Impossible II

    Mission: Impossible II

Easily the worst of all the mission impossible movies. If you took out the slow mo prob only a 90 minute movie. This was supposed to have more action in it than the first but was only half as entertaining and nowhere near as good as any of the other MI movies. It still has some good sequences but it's just not enough to save this one. Thank goodness all the others are head and shoulders above this.
