This film lives on a plain of its own, stuck in time like Dorothea, and you know by the end that all you want to do is be there with these characters.
So first off, I really loved this one and it felt like a blast from the past Black Mirror wise. The script was great and the main themes/character were handled pretty well. It was tense and I was barely bored.
But second: holy shit Andrew Scott is the best thing to happen to this season. His performance is genuinely fantastic, he really sells the “madness” and he’s terribly sympathetic. He sells some of the rare instances of iffy dialogue, in…
Flamboyant, confident, sympathetic, colourful, fun, funny, fucking beautiful.
I’m literally buzzing. This was exactly my kind of movie.
Taron Edgerton is Elton John. Jamie Bell was absolutely incredible. Stephen Graham cannot give any less than an amazing performance it seems. Everyone brings their A game.
Dexter Fletcher, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you are the man.
