Aidan Fealy’s review published on Letterboxd:
Keanu put an insane amount of work into preparing for this role, and it's remarkable how much that effort shows. His dedication to what would otherwise be a run-of-the-mill shoot'em-up is incredible.
To say that this flick solidified him as an action film superstar is underselling it. The man goes the extra mile and then some.
Some folks are likely turned off by the incessant killing of faceless goons, and I can understand that. What hooked me was the fact that each one of these kills is 1) different than the one before, 2) perfectly choreographed, and 3) a testament to Wick's unique skill-set. None of these deaths were superfluous (ok.. maybe a couple), because John Wick will not rest until he's victorious.
I'll recommend this to any fans of action flicks and I'll do so without hesitation. What a film study on the proper way to kill several hundred paid extras and stunt-men.
