Vineet Aziz’s review published on Letterboxd:
With spectacular edits and a rich vocal performance, "Winston" is a fantastic horror short about paranoia, revenge, and hatred. The writing and sound design aren't incredibly strong, but the visual storytelling and the single voice actor alone are able to elevate this piece to be constantly tense and satisfyingly unnerving.
The colors and thick, scratchy ink style stood out to me, reminding me of something between the aesthetic of Gorillaz and Jeff Lemire, but with a clear horror twist. The narrator's voice is spot-on, but I wish he had a better script to match the great visual story. If it wasn't for the voice actor, I'd be tempted to recommend watching this silently, just to heighten the impact of the visuals.
